EASTER ... JAPANESE LESSONS

What is Easter?

"The Passover is a major Jewish festival and is celebrated for seven days. Commemorates the liberation of the Hebrews, after a long period of captivity in Egypt for over 34 centuries, as it is written in Exodus 12.1-28, 23.5-8 Leviticus, Numbers 9.1-14.

Thus, the meaning of the ceremony is to be welcomed liberation. It is "the Passover sacrifice to Gd, who passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt when He struck the Egyptians and spared our homes." For it was only after the death of the firstborn of Egypt (even animals) that Pharaoh let the Hebrews leave. But the house of the Hebrew children were spared, the angel "passed over".

The dinner party that consists of bread unleavened (bread without yeast, because in his haste to leave Egypt, the Hebrews could not expect the bread ferment). It is also tradition to eat eggs, a symbol of eternal life, horseradish and bitter leaves, representing the bitterness of slavery; mashed apples or dates, which resemble the mortar the slaves used in the construction of the pyramids of Egypt.

Christians gave new meaning to Easter. The Christian Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus on Sunday, according to Luke 1.24, Acts 20.7, 16.2 and Ap 1 Cor 1:10. It is the memory of the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, the new Paschal Victim 1Cor 5.6-8 seconds, 11.26, and his victory over death through resurrection. Emerged in the early second century in Rome when the Gentile Christianity became detached from Jewish traditions, in a slow and contentious discussion at the synod of Nicaea (325 AD). Christian The date was fixed as "the first Sunday after the first full moon that occurs after the vernal equinox or boreal, as adopted March 21 (from this phenomenon, is also determined the date of the Carnival).

The Christian Easter is celebrated in early spring in northern Europe, same time of the festivities that honored Ostera (Oestre or Esther - in English, Easter means Easter) which celebrates fertility, a traditional and ancient pagan festival that celebrates the seasonal event equivalent to the spring equinox. Ostera, the Goddess of Spring, holding an egg (symbolizing the arrival of a new life) in his hand and he sees a rabbit, a symbol of fertility, skipping merrily around her bare feet.

Passover for Christians is the celebration of hope in eternal life. We have Christian symbols that evoke a new beginning of life, a passage from death to life through the resurrection. The Easter eggs represent the tomb which liberates new life, blessing of new fire, candles or candle, symbolizing the risen Christ, the bread is decorated as it is food that sustains life. The deeper meaning is that if he re-emerged three days after his death, all we'll also resurrect to eternal life.

Passover for the Jews, it is life and freedom, for Christians, is life and resurrection. In both there are common symbols: the lamb without broken bones and his blood, marking the people for a new reality of change and liberation in the midst of oppression. Christ is the sacrificial lamb to save humanity with his blood where none of its bones were broken.
Easter has always represented the passing of a time of darkness to another light, that long before it was considered one of the major festivals of Christianity.

Reflect, meditate on it, and ask yourself:
- What do I need to do deep cleaning in my house (my body, my holy temple: physical, mental, and emotional energy)?
- What should I burn trash?
- What should be left behind?
- What will be sacrificed?

Kabbalah teaches that leaven represents the moral imperfections and negative tendencies of man. Just as the yeast dough filled with air and grows, so too is the man who is filled with vanity.
Ostera arrives in spring, full of life (egg) and prosperity (rabbit) after the winter, a time of darkness and gloom. Moses leads the people through the Red Sea after years of exile and slavery. And finally, Christ is risen from the dead after death and flogging.
The rebirth, the victory of death over life, freedom, take place after a period of trials and learning. So, enjoy the Easter to renew itself, break free and win over a new life, leaving everything to die is no longer necessary. "

Have a Happy Easter, full of light, now in its true meaning.
